We're passionate about our customers and making sure that you're happy and so the following sets out the terms and conditions that apply to your order in what we hope is a straight-forward and customer-friendly way. This part is boring but is unfortunately necessary; our attitude to customer service is that as long as any customers are reasonable and have a genuine complaint, we will resolve it. Any discrepancies, returns or issues, etc. are resolved by our customer service team swiftly and effectively.

By placing an order through our site, you warrant that:
- You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts; and
- You are resident in the UK; and
- You are accessing our site from the UK
All orders for goods shall be deemed to be an offer by the buyer to purchase goods pursuant to these Terms and Conditions and are subject to acceptance by Wheelie Bin Storage Direct. Wheelie Bin Storage Direct may choose not to accept an order for any reason.
Purchasing can be made through Wheelie Bin Storage Direct’s secure online payment system.
How The Contract Is Formed Between You And Us
After placing an order, you will receive an e-mail from us acknowledging that we have received your order. Please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy a Product. All orders are subject to acceptance by us. The contract between us (Contract) will only be formed when we dispatch your items.
If you are contracting as a consumer, then you may cancel* a Contract at any time within fourteen days, beginning on the day after you received the Products. In this case, and in accordance with our returns policy (set out below) you will receive a full refund of the price paid for the Products, but you will be responsible for the cost of returning the Products to us.
To cancel a Contract, you must inform us in writing. You must also return the Products to us immediately, in the same condition in which you received them, and at your own cost and risk. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the Products while they are in your possession. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right of action against you for compensation.
*You will not have any right to cancel a Contract for the supply of any Products:
- that have been custom made to suit your specifications;
- that have been assembled and accepted
- which by reason of their nature cannot be returned; or
- altered by applying chemicals or paints to the surfaces or by altering or customising the Goods in any way or doing anything that could be deemed to be an act of the Buyer accepting the Goods as his or her own
All prices and charges on this site are shown in UK pounds sterling and include any VAT payable. The total costs of your order will be the price of the products that you order and the cost of any additional services or products you choose.
All costs will be set out clearly in your shopping trolley before you submit your order. Prices, offers, and products are subject to availability and may change before (but not after) Wheelie Bin Storage Direct accepts your order.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct will not provide a refund to reflect a reduction in price for any item purchased and subsequently reduced in price at a later date.
If for any reason a product becomes unavailable after the point of your order Wheelie Bin Storage Direct reserve the right to supply you with a product that is, in our opinion, a suitable alternative item. In the unlikely event of this occurrence, you would be notified and given the option to accept the alternative product or cancel your order.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct always endeavours to ensure that all information on this website is accurate. However, if an error does occur in the price or description, Wheelie Bin Storage Direct will inform you and ask you whether you still wish to continue with the order.
If a product or service is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or an error in the pricing information received by Wheelie Bin Storage Direct from our suppliers then we reserve the right to cancel the contract.
In these circumstances, you will not be entitled to seek compensation for disappointment suffered or for any losses which you might otherwise have incurred. Wheelie Bin Storage Direct reserve the right to change the price of a product at any time.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct accepts card payments via Mastercard, Visa, Visa Electron, Visa Debit, Solo, Maestro (formerly Switch) and American Express as well as PayPal.
Payment is deducted when the order is processed. Payment can only be made on the website using our secure online payment system.
After payment is received, Wheelie Bin Storage Direct shall confirm by email the details, description and price of the goods purchased together. Payment of all charges for products on order must be made in full before dispatch of the goods. Wheelie Bin Storage Direct reserve the right to refuse orders if deemed necessary.
We specify accurate dimensions for every product listed on WheelieBinStorageDirect.co.uk. However, please be aware that the very nature of wooden products means there will be small variances. Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all sizes, weights, and measurements quoted on the website are approximate only. Similarly, we've made every effort to display all product colours accurately. However, we can't guarantee that the image displayed on your monitor will accurately reflect the true colour of the product delivered to you. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that product specifications are correct on the website, due to continual product development through research & design, specifications may change without notice.
Any customer reviews of the products we sell are the opinions of our customers and do not form part of the specification or description of the product. We shall not be liable if any of the information contained in a customer review proves inaccurate.
You acknowledge and agree that we are entitled to change or amend our website without giving you notice (but the terms and conditions applicable when you placed your order will continue to apply to those products).
From time to time we may offer products at sale or promotional prices. Any such offers will apply to selected products and be subject to availability. Delivery charges, conditions, and geographical exclusions may apply. Please refer to individual product pages for pricing.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct provides estimated working day lead times for delivery. However, these timescales are not a maximum or guaranteed time in which the delivery will take place.
When your product is ready for delivery and the delivery is then scheduled, you will be contacted by Wheelie Bin Storage Direct to book in the delivery with you via telephone. At this time you will receive your confirmed delivery date.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct makes every effort to deliver goods within a reasonable variance of the published estimated timescales; however, extended delays are occasionally inevitable due to unforeseen factors beyond our control and therefore delivery times are not guaranteed.
Estimated delivery dates are not part of the contract between Wheelie Bin Storage Direct and the buyer, and Wheelie Bin Storage Direct shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within the estimated timescales. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the purchaser and Wheelie Bin Storage Direct, the delivery of goods will take place at the delivery address you have specified in the order.
When the delivery arrives at the specified address someone must be present to accept it and the delivery must be signed for. Alternatively, an agreement can be made prior to delivery whereby written confirmation, in the form of an email, stating permission is provided to drop the goods off at your given address without the requirement to have anyone present to sign for them.
Providing that Wheelie Bin Storage Direct delivers the goods to the address you have specified in the order then the goods will be deemed to have been delivered and Wheelie Bin Storage Direct will not be liable to you for any subsequent claim of non-delivery.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct does not have to be satisfied that the person who accepts delivery at the given address is you (or authorised by you to accept delivery of the goods).
The quantity or content of any consignment of goods or components of a good that are recorded by Wheelie Bin Storage Direct upon dispatch shall be conclusive evidence of the quantity or content received by you upon delivery unless you can provide conclusive evidence to the contrary.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct also reserves the right to suspend future deliveries of goods and cancel any contracts with you if you have a bankruptcy order made against you or make an arrangement or composition with your creditors; convene a meeting of creditors or enter into liquidation.
We also reserve the right to suspend any future deliveries should you fail to observe/perform any of your obligations under the contract between you and Wheelie Bin Storage Direct. This includes any contract between yourself and Wheelie Bin Storage Direct for the sale and purchase of the goods incorporating these conditions, whether effected by electronic mail through this website or otherwise.
If a delivery is made and nobody is there to sign for the product (unless a pre-agreement has been signed allowing Wheelie Bin Storage Direct to leave the product without a signature upon arrival), the product may be left in a secure location within the boundary of your property where possible.
If it is not possible to leave the delivery safely, the product will be returned to base, awaiting another suitable dispatch date. In these circumstances, the purchaser will be held responsible for paying all additional delivery costs to have the item re-transported.
The delivery driver will not assist with carrying any components through your property. Unless expressly stated, Wheelie Bin Storage Direct assumes that the purchaser will be available for delivery at any time with prior notice. Wheelie Bin Storage Direct requests that the customer provides information relating to any narrow lanes, narrow or low bridges, weight restrictions, or similar vehicle restrictions on the available routes to access the delivery address.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct requires notification of any parking/stopping restrictions at the delivery address in advance of delivery. If our vehicle cannot reach your property, the goods may be left at the nearest accessible point.
Delivery is kerbside only unless discussed and agreed as otherwise prior to delivery. You will need an appropriate space as close to your kerbside as possible for our driver to deliver to.
Movement of delivered goods beyond kerbside is the responsibility of the customer unless discussed and agreed as otherwise prior to delivery. In any case, movement of the panels beyond kerbside is at the driver's discretion and the driver will need to assess access on arrival in order to ensure that he can safely move the panels to any requested location beyond kerbside.
It is essential that you fully check the delivery of your bin store to confirm that all components, parts, and fixings are present and correct prior to assembly, to ensure you have everything required for installation. If there is a problem with any component you have received, or if something is missing, please email email@example.com and confirm the issue with photographs where applicable.
If an attempted delivery is made but cannot be completed as a result of the purchaser failing to meet the terms of delivery including but not limited to there being no-one present, no access to or stopping at the delivery address, or no suitable location in which to leave the delivery, the bin storage will be returned to base and the purchaser will be liable for all costs associated with a second attempted delivery. Wheelie Bin Storage Direct cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury sustained due to incorrect unloading, usage, or assembly of any of our products.
Once goods have been delivered, they are the responsibility of the customer alone.
Cancellation of Delivery Bookings
If you have accepted delivery and wish to cancel the accepted delivery booking, we will require a minimum of 1 working days’ notice prior to the scheduled delivery date. If delivery is cancelled in less than 1 working days of the accepted delivery date, the delivery loading process will have commenced and cancellation of the accepted delivery will incur a failed delivery charge.
Product Maintenance and Guarantee
Our timber guarantee offers protection against general timber rot and decay – the guarantee does not cover the product against timber splits or warping which may occur naturally over time. To maintain the validity of these guarantees the product must be assembled strictly in accordance with the instructions supplied, treated annually (internally and externally) with an appropriate high-quality preservative.
The 10-year timber guarantees will be deemed invalid if;
- The product has not been assembled correctly by the end-user in line with the assembly instructions.
- The base upon which the product is assembled is not suitable – all bin stores should be assembled on a firm and level base constructed from a suitable material.
- The product has not been treated (internally and externally) annually thereafter with an appropriate high-quality preservative
- The product has been customised or adapted in any way.
- At any point after assembly, the bin store has been in contact with any trees, plants or exterior walls which could allow moisture to penetrate the timber.
- Any timber has been cut, pierced or drilled without a subsequent application of approved cut-end treatment.
- The eventual claimant was not the original purchaser of the product.
Please note: timber is a natural product and prone to changes in appearance, including some movement, warping and splitting, particularly in extreme weather conditions. This will not affect the structural integrity of the product – this is natural and is not covered by a guarantee.
Cancellations and Returns
The buyer shall inspect the goods immediately upon receipt and shall notify Wheelie Bin Storage Direct by email as soon as possible after the delivery has been made if the goods are damaged or do not comply with any of the contract.
If the buyer fails to do so the buyer shall be deemed to have accepted the goods. Where a claim of defect or damage is made, if goods are in the condition as received (not assembled, painted, treated, or altered in any way) Wheelie Bin Storage Direct will supply/replace/repair any necessary parts to complete your agreed initial purchase.
If you are a consumer you have the right, in addition to your other rights, to cancel the contract and receive a refund by informing the seller by email within 14 working days after the day of delivery of the goods.
You will be asked, however, to pay the costs of the return postage/carriage and for the collection charge by one of Wheelie Bin Storage Direct’s pre-approved couriers. Products must be returned as new and, where practicable, in their original packaging.
If the buyer fails to return the goods following cancellation or does not pay the returning delivery fee issued by Wheelie Bin Storage Direct, Wheelie Bin Storage Direct reserve the right and is entitled to deduct the cost of recovering the goods from any refund issued, which will be up to 25% of the bin store price for any non-customised or standard product and up to 100% of the price for any bespoke or customised product.
If Wheelie Bin Storage Direct sends you the incorrect product or if, upon receipt of all relevant evidence, we deem it has arrived faulty or damaged, you will be offered a full refund and exemption from delivery costs.
Any item to be returned or replaced must be in the same condition as delivered. Wheelie Bin Storage Direct will not accept any product for return if it has been assembled, modified or customised in any way including being subject to the application of chemicals or paints.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct will require photographic evidence of any complaints, defects, requests to return a product which can be submitted by email.
For defective products, we will examine the returned product. Products returned by you because of a defect not caused by you or your servant or agent (including landscaper or other installers) will be refunded in full, including a refund of the delivery charges for sending the item to you and the cost incurred by you in returning the item to us.
If, after examination, we find the returned Product to be defective due to a defect not caused by you or your servant or agent (or other installer) we will notify you in relation to your refund via e-mail within a reasonable period of time. We will usually process any refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case, within 30 days of the day we confirmed to you via e-mail that you were entitled to a refund for the defective Product. We will usually refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase.
If upon return, the damaged products have been modified or have undergone any attempted installation, you may be responsible/liable for any costs of return or redelivered product that is not in the condition previously stated.
Any cancellation within the initial 14 day period will be refunded within 14 days of the product being returned – for any cancellation outside of this timeframe all refunds will be processed within 30 days after the product has been successfully returned.
If you wish to cancel an order before it has been delivered, you must contact Wheelie Bin Storage Direct immediately. You must confirm your cancellation in writing via email.
In some periods when our lead times are heavily extended, we enable customers to put down a 20% refundable deposit on their bin store. The remaining 80% will be due when the store is close to entering production. You will be sent a payment reminder and instructions on how to pay the amount by credit/debit card or PayPal. The 20% deposit provides you with a slot in the production queue, and as soon as your deposit is received your order will join the back of the queue. The deposit is refundable, but there is a flat £10 fee on all cancellations.
Bespoke / Customised Products
Goods that are ordered to your specification or not available as a standard product from our website, for example, made to order bin stores cannot be cancelled or returned once the order has entered manufacture as they are considered to be bespoke.
In this case, after we have sent you our confirmation email you will have entered into a binding contract to buy the goods, and because the goods are being made to your specification you will not be able to cancel that contract.
Once the goods have been delivered you can only return them if they are not of satisfactory quality or reasonably fit for the purpose and we cannot remedy the fault to your reasonable satisfaction. Orders of bespoke products may also extend the average delivery lead time.
Timber and Other Natural Products
Timber is a natural product and prone to changes in appearance, including some movement and the occurrence of small knot holes or splits in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
Any splits, knots or similar visual imperfections in the timber will not affect the structural integrity of the product in any way, are not considered to be damaged, and do not render the product unfit for purpose.
Whilst every effort is made to hand pick timber without visible knotholes or splits there may be occasions where timber is selected in good faith that contains what appears to be a solid knot. Over the course of time / during movement of the product etc, it may occur that these small knotholes are then dislodged from the timber leaving a small knot or crack.
Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for this maturing of the product and can only offer our best advice on how to deal with this situation in the unlikely event that it should occur.
Please note: any guarantee offered does not cover the products against timber splits or warping. These are natural characteristics of the products and not defects and neither will these circumstances be accepted as a valid reason for the cancellation of an order, as this can occur naturally over time.
We warrant to you that any Product purchased from us through our site is of satisfactory quality and reasonably fit for all the purposes for which products of that kind are commonly supplied.
The provisions below shall only apply if you are contracting as a business and not as a consumer:
- We shall under no circumstances whatever be liable to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, for any loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising under or in connection with the Contract; and
- Our total liability to you in respect of all other losses arising under or in connection with the Contract, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall in no circumstances exceed the price of the Products you have purchased.
- If you intend to install a Product you have purchased from us through a gardener or other installer and, prior to the installation, you are aware of a defect as referred to under our returns policy or your installer should reasonably be expected to discover and therefore become aware of any such defect upon inspection, then if the planned installation proceeds we will not be responsible for any costs of reinstallation, incurred by you or installer, which you may subsequently claim to have been necessary as a result of the defect.
Nothing in these terms and conditions shall limit or exclude our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors (as applicable);
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- Breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979;
- Defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987; or
- Any matter in respect of which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or restrict liability.
Applicable laws require that some of the information or communications we send to you should be in writing. When using our site, you accept that communication with us will be mainly electronic. We will contact you by e-mail or provide you with information by posting notices on our website. For contractual purposes, you agree to this electronic means of communication and you acknowledge that all contracts, notices, information and other communications that we provide to you electronically comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
All notices given by you to us must be given (by letter) the address below at or by email firstname.lastname@example.org. We may give notice to you at either the e-mail or postal address you provide to us when placing an order, or in any of the ways specified in above. Notice will be deemed received and properly served immediately when posted on our website, 24 hours after an e-mail is sent, or three days after the date of posting of any letter. In proving the service of any notice, it will be sufficient to prove, in the case of a letter, that such letter was properly addressed, stamped and placed in the post and, in the case of an e-mail that such e-mail was sent to the specified e-mail address of the addressee.
Transfer of Rights and Obligations
The Contract between you and us is binding on you and us and on our respective successors and assigns.
You may not transfer, assign, charge or otherwise dispose of a Contract, or any of your rights or obligations arising under it, without our prior written consent.
We may transfer, assign, charge, sub-contract or otherwise dispose of a Contract, or any of our rights or obligations arising under it, at any time during the term of the Contract.
Events Outside Our Control
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a Contract that is caused by events outside our reasonable control (Force Majeure Event).
A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes in particular (without limitation) the following:
- Strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action.
- Civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war.
- Fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, or other natural disasters.
- Impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport.
- Impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks.
- The acts, decrees, legislation, regulations or restrictions of any government.
Our performance under any Contract is deemed to be suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will have an extension of time for performance for the duration of that period. We will use our reasonable endeavours to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which our obligations under the Contract may be performed despite the Force Majeure Event.
Wheelie Bin Storage Direct requests that any complaint is submitted in writing via email, or letter (with accompanying photographs where appropriate) in order for us to forward to the appropriate member of staff responsible for dealing with the complaint and allow us the opportunity to thoroughly investigate. Once the details have been reviewed, a written response to the complaint will be provided.
Our Right to Vary These Terms and Conditions
We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time to reflect changes in market conditions affecting our business, changes in technology, changes in payment methods, changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements and changes in our system's capabilities.
Law and Jurisdiction
Contracts for the purchase of Products through our site will be governed by English law. Any dispute arising from, or related to, such Contracts shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
