Why Do I Need a Bin and Box Store?
Most people would agree that wheelie bins and recycling boxes are unsightly, but they're also necessary. On the one hand, you need them, but on the other, you don't want those bins and boxes detracting from the kerbside appeal of your home. So what to do? Obviously, you're not going to keep bins and boxes inside! So why not invest in a bin and box store instead? You'll keep your property looking good but still have those bins and boxes handy when you need them.
Dimensions and Measurements
This particular chest has three separate compartments. Two are designed for up to and including 240-litre wheelie bins, whilst the third has a horizontal shelf that splits the space up to fit two standard sized recycling boxes. This is an excellent choice for a family house! You'll need to measure your bins and containers and the space where you want to install the chest to make sure everything fits appropriately. The measurements of the chest are:
- External Dimensions: 1200 x 2040 x 804 mm (H/W/D)
- Internal Dimensions: 1090 x 650-650-540 (Each Compartment) x 750mm (H/W/D)
The unit fits 240 litre wheelie bins so will also accommodate 180 and 140 litre bins.
What Kind of Wood?
If you're looking for top-quality, then you're getting it! You won't need to replace this store any time soon. The chest is made from premium pressure treated redwood. What does that mean for you? Redwood is the hardest of softwoods, so it's relatively light but still very, very hard-wearing. And pressure-treating means that it's incredibly weatherproof, so you won't need to worry about heat, damp or freezing temperatures. To keep your chest in perfect shape, you might want to apply stain once a year.
Like buying British products? Then you'll be glad to know that this store is made in the UK in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire, so it's homegrown! And for those that worry about the environment, know that all timber is sourced from renewable resources.
We do need to mention a few more things here. First up, all the lids open at the top giving you access to the wheelie bins and the top recycling box. Lids have a connecting chain, too, letting you connect the lid of the bin with the lid of the store so that you can lift both at once.
At the front, you'll see three doors, one for each compartment, so loading the store is easy. The doors do have bolts, but you can opt for an additional padlock hasp for added security if you want. Bolts, hinges and handles are all metal. Since the store is self-standing, you can place it anywhere, but you can also anchor it to the ground if you prefer more stability.
You'll receive your chest as a flat pack, containing all you need for construction (except the tools!). But don't worry, there are clear instructions, and the whole process shouldn't take more than an hour or two!
Bottom Line Time
If you're tired of wheelie bins and recycling boxes cluttering up your property and looking ugly, then this store is for you. Keep that rubbish and recycling out of sight, and get a great looking garden fixture too.
