What Materials?
Understandably, you don't want to invest in something that's going to fall apart, but here you don't need to worry. The double chest store is made from top-quality pressure-treated redwood. Redwood is the hardest softwood, so it's long-lasting while still light, and pressure treating it makes it more durable and more dampproof. Rain, snow, ice, or hot sun don't matter; this chest can take it all. It looks great, and if you want to keep it looking great, then all you'll need to do is treat the chest with a stain once a year. How easy is that?
The chest is UK-made too, so that you can support domestic products. It's produced in the Ribble Valley in Lancashire. A big supporter of environmental causes? You don't need to feel guilty here since this chest is made only from renewable wood sources.
What Else Do I Need to Know?
Take a look at the lid, and you'll see there's a chain connection that allows you to tie the lid of the chest to the lid of your wheelie bins, meaning you can open both lids at the same time with one hand, leaving your other hand free for the rubbish bag.
Taking your bins in and out couldn't be easier either, since two front, bolted doors give you easy access when the bin men come. Those bolts and the hinges and lid handles are all metal, so long-lasting, but if you need a little more security, you can opt for a hasp that allows you to fit a padlock to those doors – we can provide this for a nominal cost – contact us, and we'll sort it out for you.
The unit is self-standing, so you can put it anywhere. We provide a galvanised floor bar that runs under the doors to help the doors hang true and maintain shape.
However, if you worry about high winds or even theft, you can anchor the chest to the ground if you choose to.

Built it on my own in an afternoon and I’m 78 so should be easy for any diyer. It really is very well built and I’m glad I didn’t go along the self construction route by buying timber etc.
I think I will improve it by fitting wooden stays to hold the lids up when tipping indoor bins in to wheelie bins.

My wheelie bin arrived quickly and safely after placing my order. With the help of my wife, it was assembled in about 2 hours. The bin looks great, I prefer the natural wood look, but you could paint it too as per the instructions. The latch on the front keeps bins secure and now our unsightly bins hidden from site. The lid chain on the inside that when attached, lifts the bin lid when the store lid is lifted is a good idea as well. Although you do put your bin with the handles at the rear for it to work but it’s easy to slide out. I’ve noticed a few more of these pop up around our neighborhood and I take full credit as we were the first to have one!

I’d been looking for something to mask the wheelie bins, they’re not exactly the nicest things in the world but a necessary evil in this day and age! I tried decorating them with stickers but they just came off. That’s when I came across this unit and I’m really glad I did. It does a brilliant job of hiding the bins away. It’s quite expensive but very well made. I like how there’s two sets of doors as well, one to use to get the bin out on collection day, and one to access it from the top when we need to put bags in.

This double wheelie bin store is fantastic. It incredibly easy to put together and I found the instructions were very easy to understand. The only downside I found was that it took us a fair few hours to put it together and that was with both of us building it, all in all I think it took 3 hours!

Made from solid timber and well made. Has a set of double doors on the front and two hatches on top, easy for the bins to be removed, and bin bags dropped in through the week. Lid was quite heavy but has since dried out so must have been the moisture.
Good quality metal fixtures as well. I didn’t use the floor fixing kit but all looks very sturdy without it when up against my garden wall.
